Our work programme

Our current programme of cross-cutting cardiovascular quality improvement projects are focusing on:

Medicines management

The Cardiac Network has worked with medicines management leads from across the East Midlands to agree guidelines to realise cost and quality improvements in prescribing of medicines for the management of cardiovascular disease. The two main areas of work have been anticoagulants (led through our atrial fibrillation project) and antiplatlets.

The network endorsed guidance document on the implementation of pdfNICE TA 249 and NICE TA 256, for use in atrial fibrillation.
